ALTOONA, Pa. — Erin Murphy, professor of English at Penn State Altoona, was the featured guest recently on the “Writers Association of Northern Appalachia” podcast. She read from her poetry and was interviewed about her writing process.

Murphy also presented a poetry reading on Feb. 16 as part of the Hometown Voices series at Tempest Studios in State College, Pennsylvania.

She also published several new poems this month, including “Napkin Parable” in “Rust & Moth.” Her villanelle “You Break It, You Bought It” was published in “One Art” on Feb. 8, the birthday of American poet Elizabeth Bishop (1911-79) who authored the well-known villanelle “One Art.”

Murphy is the author or editor of more than a dozen previous books, chapbooks and anthologies, with three additional books forthcoming from Salmon Poetry, Harbor Editions and Wesleyan University Press.
